After the AGM: Compliance, Handovers and Inducting Your Committee

Your AGM is done, but the work isn’t over. The weeks after an AGM are when good governance habits are set (or lost). This practical online session walks you through what needs to happen next so your new committee starts on the right foot.

What we’ll cover

  • Compliance after the AGM: Which regulators to notify about changes to your committee and when. If you’re a registered charity, this includes updating the ACNC about your new Responsible Persons.

  • Handovers that actually work: Committee changeover isn’t only about people leaving. When existing members move into new roles, assumptions about “what everyone already knows” can lead to misunderstandings. We’ll look at how to run clear handovers so everyone understands the expectations of their role.

  • Inducting new committee members: How to bring on board members who are new to your organisation, new to governance, or returning after time away, so they feel confident and ready to contribute.

Introducing our new AGM Tool

We’re excited to launch our new AGM Tool during this session, with a live walkthrough for Premium Members. The tool guides your organisation through the post-AGM process and helps you plan for your next AGM, which is especially useful if you run on a calendar financial year and your AGM is still ahead of you.

The AGM Tool will be available to Premium Members 24/7, all year round, in the iClick2Learn library under the Govern/Boards and Committees category, alongside our other learning resources.

Who should attend?
Committee and board members, secretaries, chairs, executive officers and anyone involved in governance of a not-for-profit or charity

Online via Zoom

This is a15-minute presentation, followed by 15 meeting Q&A session.
