There are a wide range of organisations you can volunteer for. They achieve their mission through recruiting and engaging volunteers like yourself.
You could volunteer for community and welfare organisations like neighbourhood and community centres; sport and recreation, such as soccer clubs or hockey; education, training, and youth might be an interest; and you can look at organisations like Girl Guides or youth councils.
There’s also faith-based and spiritual organisations; health organisations, such as hospitals; arts and culture organisations like museums and galleries; and workplace volunteering through business organisations like the Institute for Marketing. Of course we have emergency services like the Fire Service. There’s animal and environmental organisations like Wires and Landcare. We have law or justice and political organisations, and there’s also international aid.
And within these varied organisations, there’s so many volunteer opportunities for you, and it’s really helpful to explore the types of organisation that you’d really like to volunteer for before you begin your search for that perfect volunteer role.
